Thought Leader, Heather Ridout (CEO, Australian Industry Group) lead the session with a panel members Steve Wood (CEO, Tennis Australia) and Professor Andy Smith (Professor of Human Resources Management, Director Development Charles Sturt University Centre for Organisational Performance, Ethics and Leadership) on the topic of 'Leadership'

Heather talked about the need for a more diverse workforce particularly at the top of organisations and cited the absence of women in key influence positions.
I would argue that that is one critical aspect of diversity but a diverse workforce also incorporates diversity of ethnicity, a diverse of age and abilities as well as gender. The more diverse the workforce the better able to cope with sweeping change and competition.
The one panel member (Gus Balbonkin) , for example, who was younger than the rest and from Argentina rather than Australia had a qualitatively different message from his fellow panelists.
