The final session for the day was facilitated by Dr Richard Hames.
The aim of the session was to give shape to the insights and ideas that emerged during all sessions of the conference.
A free flowing conversation between facilitator and delegates helped to give substance to the three key areas of inquiry
1. Infrastructure
2. Culture
3. Capability

Probably the most effective change to achieve the desired performance improvement in VET delivery would be to redirect the funding.
The present institutional funding arrangements direct the funds to the training establishment, which absorbs a substantial proportion due to the lack of focus.
The alternative is to direct the funds to the point of application, ie the trainee. Training credits would almost overnight reform the system as trainees would have the choice of providers!
Is there a good reason why this simple and effective solution cannot be applied?
